Oh hello there!
Kristen and Courtney are sisters, aligned in our passion to support humans in their individual journeys, through healing and growth.
We are here to walk alongside you in your deep work of healing, understanding, and thriving.
Why “Sound Soul Wellness?”
I believe that healing is always possible. I have the profound honor of working with individuals, couples, children, and families on their healing journeys. I love the dual meaning of Sound: as a musician and professional vocal coach as well as a wellness coach, this word leans into the idea of hearing the sound of another’s soul. The other meaning, one of grounding and foundation, is the place that a sound soul lands.
Who Am I?
I’m Kristen! In 2008, I left the corporate world for the healing world with a deep desire to help others on their journeys to a more healed existence. While I am a Holistic Complementary and Alternative Practitioner and not a licensed therapist, my clients know that my work centers around using empathy, knowledge, and techniques that are individualized to them. I came to this work after watching those I love struggle with parenting stress, trauma, unhealthy relationships, and addiction and I wanted to learn how to help. I, too, experienced many of these and I approach this work with deep empathy and an infinite well of curiosity and compassion for the human condition.
Holistic practice spoke to me because, at my core, I understand that there are so many ways to help and there is no “one size fits all” formula for healing. As a “forever student” I am constantly learning more tools to add to my offerings, so that my clients are always presented with the most well-rounded and up-to-date approaches. I am currently pursuing my doctorate in Spiritual Counseling and I am enrolled with SNTI for a training in deep somatic work, including EMDR, body movement therapy, and Body-Mind Psychotherapy.

Why “The Curious Lark?”
In my decades of experience working with young children and the adults who support them, I return again and again to the idea, “Get Curious!” Replacing this concept with assumptions, judgements, and stories we tell ourselves allows us to be open to what is actually happening and consider possible paths ahead.
I also love birds and, when I decided to take this unconventional path (on a lark, you could say), I realized that the lark symbolizes new beginnings and joy. This grounded me in my purpose of curious joy when working with the wonderful humans who support young children.
Who Am I?
I’m Courtney! I have worked in education since 2002 in many capacities (see My Experience below). While the majority of my work has been in the Montessori education field, I have also worked with and am open to other educational pedagogies.
I know that the work of being a parent, educator, and school leader is not without its challenges, as well as its joys. My greatest joy is supporting adults who are guiding infants and young children into their potential. I also realize that every situation is different and must be approached with empathy, active listening, and individualized support. While I could create classes and workshops that were standard, I do not believe that they would be as impactful as deeply understanding the unique situations each client has.
